Needlefelt

Needlefelt/needlepunch is a mechanical way of binding a web to form a fabric by penetrating the web with an array of barbed needles that carry tufts of the web’s own fibers in a vertical direction through the web (Source: INDA).

TAL has its own needlefelt/needlepunch development/pilot line and can produce fabrics up to 2.0 metres wide in-house. SAF™ can be blended with a wide range of other fibre types to produce such fabrics. Webs containing up to 80% SAF™ can be produced at a wide range of fabric weights, typically between 100-1,000gsm. Short order trial runs can be facilitated where commercially viable.
